“Why should I even take this test? “
Sophomores
You should take this test to see if you can score well on it. That way, you have a whole year to prepare to take it again your junior year, when your scores will count for scholarships. You can see how close you are to making national merit, or being commended, or being a semi-finalist. If you earn any one of these titles your junior year when you retake the test, it is an amazing thing to add to your college application you must take it again your junior year, regardless of if you have taken it before. This is the only year your scores can qualify you. Taking it your sophomore year is a great test run to see how well you can do.
Juniors
You should take this test because it will help you prepare for the ACT ( the test you need to get into college) and if you earn a qualifying score you are considered one of the top students IN THE ENTIRE NATION! ( how cool is that?) Also, colleges LOVE national merit scorers. AND by scoring well, you qualify to be considered as a national merit finalist who can win any number of scholarships automatically. Plus, you can sent your scores to college you apply to and they will think you are a really good candidate! -you must take it your junior year, regardless of if you have taken it before. This is the only year your scores can qualify you.
